What this Privacy Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy covers the treatment by Service Net Solutions LLC (“Service Net”) and its affiliates of personally identifiable information that it collects directly from you or through an affiliate when you register a product through a paper, Internet or electronic registration form, purchase a service contract or other product or service through Service Net’s web site [lg.yourserviceplan.com] or by telephone or mail or you make use of other Service Net services as described below.
Personally identifiable information includes your name, address, email address, telephone number, credit card number and other similar non-public information. This policy applies only to transactions that you engage in with Service Net, and does not cover any transactions with any of the companies with whom we might partner. If you are doing business with another company, you should review the privacy policy of that company.
Information Collection and Use
Service Net collects personally identifiable information when you purchase a service contract or other product or service from Service Net, register your service contract or other product or service with Service Net or otherwise use Service Net services. Service Net may also receive personally identifiable information from its business partners who perform registration services, solicitation services or receive mail solicitation on our behalf.
When you purchase or register a service contract or other product or service with Service Net, we ask for your name, email address, telephone number, credit card account number (in connection with the purchase of a service contract or other product or service), fax number, and postal address. Once you provide such information to us, you are not anonymous to us.
Service Net uses this information to issue you a service contract or other product or service, which may be paid for over time, and to otherwise provide to you the service contract or other product or service that you purchased. Service Net may also use your contact information for the purpose of obtaining surveys regarding quality control and service improvement and to contact you about service contract extensions, special offers and/or new products or services.
Service Net and its affiliates also automatically receive and record information on its server logs from your browser including your IP address, cookie information and the page you requested. Service Net uses this information to customize its web site and the advertising and content you see on the site and may email you about specials and new products.
Cookies
Service Net and its affiliates will set and access cookies on your computer.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Service Net may send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or people when:
- We or an affiliate capture and/or process your product registration.
- We need to share your information to provide the product or service you have purchased [for example, we may use your address to mail the terms and conditions of the service contract you purchased or call you about any issues related to the service contract;
- We need to send the information to companies who work on behalf of Service Net to provide a product or service to you, such as repair services covered by your warranty;
- We respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process; or
- We need to share your information with the necessary third parties to service your account, administer and adjust claims, underwrite insurance, manage cases and grievances, conduct research on products, provide quality assurance or investigate fraud or other seemingly illegal activities.
Your Ability to Cancel Your Service Contract
You may request cancellation of your Service Net service contract pursuant to the instructions set forth on your Certificate of Coverage.
Security
Your Service Net Account Information is password-protected for your privacy and security.
Service Net uses industry-standard SSL-encryption to protect data transmissions.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
Service Net may amend this policy from time to time. If we make any substantial changes in the way we use your personal information we will notify you by posting a prominent announcement on our pages.
